March 2004
Abby's hair has really started to grow, and with the first girl in the family it means Mommy gets to start playing dress-up. Out came the hair "pretties" which we all oohed and aawed enough over that Abby thought they were cool and left them in. For the most part.
Abby has also taken to eating big people food, which is a good thing since she is still under 20 lbs!! She is very tall for her age, but very thin! Anyways, she just got up from her nap and wanted to get into the high-chair. She already recognizes the camera and started doing her cheesy face (left).
Another visit to St. David means more time hanging out with the cousins. McKay and Brenna have really become good friends and play a lot together. Abby and Brylee are destined to grow up close since they are very close in age. Most of the time they spend their time getting into trouble, as seen here (left).
I decided to travel up to Spokane for Brady and Berta's new baby's blessing. Since Abby was still free and no one in Spokane had come over for Christmas no one had met her before. So after careful deliberation with Mom, we decided that Abby and I would have some special time together. We were going to be gone Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Below are pictures of Abby playing while we were getting ready. Not to worry -- she went on my lap, not in the suitcase. :) For any that don't know Abby too well, she is very attached to her special lamby (left). Lamby mostly stays in Abby's bed, unless she notices it at another time. But anytime, and I mean anytime, that lamby is in hand, her thumb goes right into her mouth. The two just always go together.
The first night we were at Brady's and Berta's, Abby noticed they had a piano. Abby loves music and got up on the chair in front of the piano and start playing and singing along! It was so cute, and was just one of those pictures moments a Dad just can't let go by.

After bringing Abby I was so glad that I did. Grandma and Grandpa really got to spend time with Abby and we had a really good time that weekend. She got very close to them and by the end of the weekend was letting them hold her (as we can see below). Right before we had to leave on Sunday Abby would run up to Grandma and touch her on the leg and Grandma would get down on her hands and knees and chase after her. Abby would take off and go hide, and Grandma would give a small chase and catch her and Abby would just explode into giggles. They got to be very good friends.
Abby was so good. More then one nap was missed through the weekend, she was in a new place she had never been before, surrounded entirely by new people. Yet she never fussed and was always so patient and cute. She was really a trooper for such a trip, even on the airplane.
Saturday night we went out to dinner at Outback. When I say we, I mean we. Everyone in Spokane came. It was very fun to see everyone. Abby hung out with me most of the time, and of course shared my meal. After dinner we drove up around Saltese area for old times sake. Mom and Abby played in the back seat the whole time. By the time we got home Abby had learned that a kitty says "Meow" and would even repeat it. I got to bring her home to her Mom with new tricks.

Some pictures of Catherine with Grandma and Grandpa and her new Mom and Dad on her blessing day. She was very pretty!
After the blessing we went to Deborah's and Joel's house for a luncheon. It was great to visit with everyone from Spokane and with Berta's family. Abby, of course, partook in plenty of the yummy food. After that, Mom and Dad took us to the airport and Abby and I flew back home. Abby and Karson were very excited to see each other, but Abby and I had a great trip together.
